Chicago Charity Team Building with Grant Thornton and TeamWorx has helped Chicago area charities for over ten years. Recently Grant Thornton devoted considerable resources in their Chicago Charity Team Building event to purchasing school supplies and backpacks right at the perfect time – just before school starts. TeamWorx partnered with the local School Districts to make sure the lists were accurate for each student attending. We customize the backpacks by embroidering the Grant Thornton logo into each one, and purchasing backpacks that last the full school year, if not for several years! Chicago Charity Team Building can be very rewarding when the timing and the focus of the experience are in sync with the local community.
The team building allows new leaders and new senior leaders the opportunity to work with their peers and actually learn about their personality styles and problem solving strengths. The team building is fun, energizing, and is unparalleled in its ability to get people interacting in interesting and meaningful ways that improve work relationships. Specifically, Grant Thornton focused on “Thinking out of the Box” and getting input from a variety of sources.
The Backpacks were presented to children from the local community at a lunch ceremony where each child was introduced an given a backpack. A few children were selected to give short speeches about how they will use the school supplies going forward. The executive director of the boys and girl;s clubs spoke on behalf of the charity, and shared the positive impact the backpacks would have on the children’s ability to learn, and to keep pace with other students in the coming school year.
The combination of fun competition and a meaningful charity experience makes this event unforgettable, and a shared experience for generations of leaders within the nationwide company.
