Most of our Peninsula work happens on campus, in space you have already booked.
An all-hands room, a cafeteria after lunch service, a courtyard, a lawn between two buildings. We load in around your security and badging process, set up, run the event, and clear out — no offsite venue to rent and no bus to schedule.
Engineering teams generally want to build something rather than talk about building something. Robot Build & Battle and Robot Racing both scale from 20 people to several hundred without changing shape, and Drone Games runs indoors in a standard ballroom or a large open floor.
Worth knowing: campus load-in windows, escort requirements, and vendor NDAs are routine for us. Send us the facilities contact and we will work it out directly.
San Francisco
Ballroom space is at a premium, so the program has to be right-sized for the room you got.
Downtown and SoMa hotels give you less square footage per attendee than almost anywhere else in the state. That rules some activities out and makes others work better. Robot Build & Battle is a strong fit: teams build at the banquet tables already set, and the tournament arena has a compact footprint at the front of the room.

Monterey
A full meeting corridor with sand at the end of it.
We have delivered programs at the Portola Hotel & Spa, the Monterey Marriott, the Hyatt Regency Monterey, and the Monterey Plaza — and the Monterey Conference Center sits in the middle of all of them. That whole corridor is within walking distance of the water, which is rare. It lets you split a day: build and compete indoors in the morning, get people on the beach in the afternoon.
Del Monte Beach is where we run Sandcastle Building here, and it’s our strongest large-group outdoor event. It goes past 200 people comfortably and every team finishes with something they made and photographed.
Napa Valley
Leadership retreats and executive offsites — smaller groups, tighter schedules, more ambitious programs.
A Napa booking is usually a half day carved out of a two-day retreat, for 20 to 60 people rather than 300. We have run programs at the Meritage Resort, Silverado Resort, Carneros Resort, and the Napa Valley Marriott, and the Westin Verasa has courtyard space that would work the same way.
Smaller is an advantage here. Robot Build & Battle with 30 executives is a different event than the same program with 300 — more build time per team, more facilitator coaching, and a full tournament bracket instead of a highlight round.
San Diego
The most venue options and the most reliable weather of any market in the state.
The Hotel del Coronado, Loews Coronado Bay Resort, the Omni downtown on L Street, La Costa Resort and Spa, the Rancho Bernardo Inn, the Four Seasons Resort Aviara, and the Manchester Grand Hyatt are a few of the properties where we have delivered programs.
Coronado is sandcastle country — the Hotel del and Loews both put you on beach that works for a full-scale build. The Four Seasons Aviara has a large flat grass area for outdoor programs at scale, and La Costa’s manicured lawn beside the championship tennis court is one of the better settings we work in.
Los Angeles
Not one meeting market but six, and drive time is the real constraint.
We have delivered programs at the JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE, The Ritz-Carlton Los Angeles, USC, and the Skirball Cultural Center.
Downtown around LA Live, the Westside and Santa Monica, the South Bay from Manhattan Beach down to Palos Verdes, Long Beach, and Pasadena all behave like separate cities. We plan around your hotel rather than around the map, so nobody spends an hour on the 405 to reach an activity.
Downtown, Burbank and Pasadena ballrooms handle Robot Build & Battle and Robot Racing well. Coastal properties through Palos Verdes and the Long Beach waterfront open up Sandcastle Building and outdoor Drone Games.

Sacramento
Home base. The Convention Center, Hyatt Regency, and Sheraton Grand sit adjacent to each other and to the Capitol — an easy, affordable meeting corridor with a walkable downtown. Our Amazing Mural Race brings the city’s murals into a competitive game.
Lake Tahoe
North shore and south shore both offer meeting space against scenery that does half the work for you. Tahoe programs are best when they get people outside and into it.
Laguna Beach & Dana Point
An art town with the shopping to match. Paint a Giant Team Mural fits here for obvious reasons. A few miles south, the Laguna Cliffs Marriott in Dana Point is where much of our professional filming and photography happens — an ideal sandcastle venue.
Huntington Beach
Wide, flat, forgiving beach and hotels right on it. One of the simplest large-group sandcastle setups in Southern California.
Yosemite Valley
An unusual place to hold a meeting and an unforgettable one. We have run programs in the valley and can work with what the park allows.
