Robot Fighting Team Building @ 1 Hacker Way Yields 2nd Best All-Time Build Time

Robot Fighting Team Building is an engaging and challenging event for the most demanding clients. At 1 Hacker Way you are going to encounter engineers, technical maestros, support staff, sales, and executives all at the pinnacle of their professions, all eager for new challenges, and all demanding of themselves and others. The property once termed “Sun Quentin” when it used to be the Sun Microsystems campus at 1 Network Drive because because employees are “effectively imprisoned” there due to the lack of nearby restaurants and businesses – is now a workers paradise! Up beat music greets you when you arrive, fresh air comes off the bay, the road configuration creates an island separating this oasis from the normalcy of box buildings and strip malls, and most importantly fresh cooked organic foods of any sort are available all day for free in the spectacular cafeteria and at restaurants inside. Sign me up!

The TeamWorx Robot Fighting team building @Hacker 1 has two key components – the build part and the battle part.

Hundreds of teams and dozens of events have set some very aggressive build times. The current Facebook Robot Build Record is 28:30 (twenty eight minutes and thirty seconds) set on July 12, 2018. The team pictured above put in the 2nd fastest time ever at 30:01 eclipsing the previous times of 32:30 (May 30, 2018), 32:42 (September 20, 2017), and 33:34 (August 9, 2018). An extremely impressive performance indeed, and just 1:31 (1 minute and 30 seconds) from the best Facebook time! The 2nd team finished in just over 37 minutes just missing out on the top 5%, and highlighting how impressive the time of 30:01 truly is. The remaining 3 teams finished near 45 minutes – which is the average build time across all groups.

As per usual the battles were where the fun really took off as everyone had a chance to battle multiple times, first in one-on-one team battles, then, as usually occurs, a natural progression to an all-bot melee. We entered our own built-bot as a rogue warrior operated by more-than-zealous battlers looking for more time in the “cage!”

We beat the robots up over about an hour or so of battles, and resurrected them time and again. When a robot goes down in battle and needs repairs, the slogan “its always something” means quite directly – it really is always one or two parts that need fixing or replacing. Find the part or parts that aren’t working, change the status to working, and the robot goes back in for more steel crunching and needle popping action! A true process of deduction similar to what many of our clients do programming, engineering, or bug checking software and/or hardware.
