Autodesk Bot Battles Team Building Shakes HQ with Cheers!
Autodesk hosted a TeamWorx Bot Battles Team Building event at their corporate headquarters in San Rafael. 50 people from different countries and different regions of the United States gathered to build one team. In addition to their geographic diversity they also had the challenge of making two previous teams , into one current team. This happens often in the fast changing climate of intentional businesses, and the best way to get great results is in-person contact and building of real human relationships between team members.
Many attendees commented to me during our event how great it was to meet people in person that they had worked with on a semi-daily basis for months or years. What makes in-person meetings even better, and maximizes ROI for the time and investment spent “out-of-office,” is excellent team building. Bot Battles Team Building was the perfect tool for this job.
Seven teams battled to build the robots faster than each other. The sheer brain processing power would have heated up the room except that we were in a stunning three story glass enclosure that would have taken an upside down hot air balloon to noticeably raise the warmth. The greatest part of the this epic battle venue was that hoards of working people on floors two and three leaned over the balconies to see what was making the “Roman Colesiumesque” cheers erupting throughout HQ. We were in stadium for bot battles!
“Team Engageers” – pictured above – won with an impressive build time of 42:01 – three minutes under the average time. The battles were outstanding with team versus team battles until the last team finished building – then we went to an all-bot melee. We kept all 7 bots and 1 extra VIP bot for the stake holders who brought us here! – battling the entire time which speaks to the quality of the robot builds from one of the world’s greatest software makers!
