They showed great teamwork and leadership in the build part of the activity. Team Transformer finished with a respectable above-average time of 41:24 (forty one minutes and twenty four seconds) – followed closely by teams Terminator, T-Rex, and Fantastic 5.
The battles were incredibly exciting with equal measure of balloon popping and robot flipping. The pit crews were able to keep the bots running and supplied with balloons – which made each and every battle intense and competitive. The battles were also incredibly even – with the difference between the top two teams and the bottom two teams – being a single tie. Terminator and Transformer each had two wins, and teams T-Rex and Fantastic 5 each had 1 win and 1 tie.
This set-up an exciting final battle between the two top teams – Terminator and Transformer. Each team chose their best driver and we set the clock to 4 minutes. As with the rest of the battles the final was incredibly close. The lead went back and forth as robot flips trumped hard work balloon popping, and then the pendulum swung back with a series of balloon pops. In the end, team Terminator scored closest to the end of time to be ahead when it matters, as the four minutes expired.
A huge thank you to CD Networks for inviting us into their Santa Clara offices and for a great robot event! We look forward to having you back for Robot Battles 2!
