Meta Robot Team Building
A Meta Robot Team Building in Redwood City California was an amazing success. Three teams of 4 people each competed to build the robot faster than each other.
“Thanks so much, Wayne and Libby. The team absolutely LOVED the Robot Battles event, it was really great. Hope to work with you again in the future!”
It was a beautiful summer day with moderate temperatures and a nice breeze. We opened the doors at the Redwood City venue to allow the breeze to blow through and cool down the room and freshen the air.
All three teams finished below 45 minutes with the winning team – pictured above – finishing in less than 40 minutes. Meta has a long history of teams who have challenged themselves to beat the World Record robot build time.
Meta – competing as Facebook – has ten teams making our all-time best build times under 37-minutes including numbers: fifteen, twenty, twenty three, twenty six, twenty eight, forty eight, forty nine, fifty three, fifty four, and sixty nine! The fastest Meta build time placing at number 15 is 27:29 (twenty seven minutes and twenty nine seconds)!
As with all events we had spirited and smashing battles. The floors at our Redwood City venue are smooth, flat, and hard, and allow for the robots to gain maximum speed very quickly. The grip is instantaneous, enhancing the quick strike ability of the attack arms. There was a significant amount of robot flips as well, including an impressive and memorable robot flip to win the last bot standing tournament! Very exciting!!
A truly timeless memory occurred when a young child summer camper enrolled in the woodworking program next door passed by, took a double-take, stared into our room, and asked – “how do I sign up for this class?” LOL
If you can impress a kid at summer camp, I think you definitely have a fun team building for adults!
A huge thank you to a super nice and fun group from Meta, hope to see you all again 🙂
