Intuitive Sunnyvale Team-Building
An Intuitive Sunnyvale Team-Building at the 1020 beautiful headquarters building, amidst a campus of six gigantic and sprawling office buildings, was a huge success with a group of folks from all parts of the world.
An international company has international employees, and Intuitive entertained professionals from Australia, Brazil,. Turkey, Germany, India, China, France, and many more places I forget in the hustle and bustle of building and battling robots.
We were hosted at an outside venue between two of the large office structures which provided concrete, tables, and shade. With the addition of table shade umbrellas, and some cold beverages, we were all complimentary of the soft breeze and pleasant weather.
Three teams of four people each built the robots beneath the umbrellas. They focused on robot building and solved world peace, all while smiling and enjoying the perfect moment. The build times were impressive, the winning team – pictured above – finished in 41:17 (forty one minutes and 17 seconds).
Considering they only had four people, that is about 10 minutes below the average build time! The other teams were not far behind all getting close to the 45 minute mark.
The best part about Robot Battles team building is that upon building the robot as a team, the process naturally bestows a sense of pride and ownership that infuses the battles with a red-thread of additional adrenaline. People care about the performance and battle longevity and take great pride in fixing the robot with their new found robot skill expertise.
The battles included everyone getting to battle for 2-minutes, and then a last bot standing finale to determine a champion.
Laughter, surprise, thrill and engagement would describe the robot battles as for one small moment, we were one-world, together in good feelings. We all celebrated our champion knowing the path they took was not easy, and knowing they were buying the first round at Bochy-ball to follow!
