Team-Building Oracle Park
A Team-Building Oracle Park event was an amazing success with Anyscale!
About 60 A.I. engineers and a variety of other key business roles worked together to build battle robots inside the Public House Restaurant. As we are in the baseball off-season, the restaurant was reserved just for our group, which made this an inviting and opportunistic venue.
The Public House at Oracle Park was the perfect private company venue – especially for any company in the Mission District. Folks can walk, bike, Onewheel, Uber, or take public transport to an easily accessible area of the city. There is even parking in Lot “A” at a reasonable cost with a bit of a walk – about 10 minutes strolling.
12 teams all competed (without the assistance of A.I.) to build the robot faster than the other teams and for a World Record. Our winning team – pictured above – almost got the record. They finished with a neuromorphic-chip-fast type of time of 31:14 (thirty-one minutes and fourteen seconds) – taking 34th place all-time, just 1 second ahead of Netflix and Apple.
Anyscale will always have a place in TeamWorx history as they were our first event after the pandemic just over a year ago. I will personally never forget that event on Thursday July 8th, 2021 in Berkeley, as it was forged in my memory like a microprocessor in a photolithography machine. We were extremely excited to work with the talented folks at Anyscale again, especially when they told us where the event was taking place!
We battled robots outside the Public House on the large concrete patio/public area in front of the restaurant. Needless to say many folks stopped to stare and wonder what was happening, and then we all starred back when a man with two live geese in a wooden cage rolled up on his bicycle. He was as interested in the battling robots and spent enough time where we stopped staring.
A huge thank you to Anyscale for bringing us back for another event with their amazing company!
