Inscopix TeamBuilding Robot Wars
An Inscopix TeamBuilding Robot Wars event in Mountain View created unusually high happiness patterns in brains of global and local employees. Inscopix took advantage of having all of their folks in one location to host a team building guaranteed to appeal to engineer types from around the globe, and to all of the people in important roles that make up a corporate office.
Robot Battles 1 was the perfect fit as it allowed intimate groups of 4-6 people to work together and get to know each other better. The smaller size of the robots helped us to fit inside their corporate office and in their already configured meeting set-up. Usually about 20 people occupy the space at the HQ on a daily basis, however today we had 3-4 times that number, so space was definitely at a premium. We managed to effortlessly fit 8 teams around a rectangle table formation with teams using 1 rectangle table each to build the robot, and the empty space in the middle to battle!
Inscopix is a neurotechnology company that specializes in developing miniaturized microscopes and imaging systems for monitoring the activity of neurons in the brain. The company’s technology enables researchers to visualize and analyze the activity of large populations of neurons in real-time, providing new insights into brain function and enabling the discovery of new treatments for neurological disorders.
The winning team was House Techno Chicago beating out other competing team names such as i-Magic, Transformers, N Bot, K99, Ann’s Crew, and Terminators. All teams had impressive build times and were ready all within a few minutes of each other. This led to large-scale melee combat almost immediately – which is ideal for arousing fun, thrill, and engagement. About three battles in we saw peak brain activity in the happiness zones, sustaining throughout until the conclusion of the last bot standing competition; Proof that Robot Battles team building is actually ridiculously fun!
