Marvell Annual Team Building
The Marvell Annual Team Building Robot Build and Battle event saw 18 teams from a variety of internal departments sign up and participate! Team names were mostly representative of their department.

A new World Record Build Time for the Robot Battles 2 team building was set by Team RDC who won the build competition with an impressive time of 36:22 (thirty six minutes and 22 seconds). This places them first all-time displacing Google who had been #1 with a build time of 37:37.
This was the third year in a row Team RDC has won the build competition. It is no wonder, they do have professional BattleBots driver David Liaw of Malice! RDC finished third all-time in last years event with a time of 43:47, so I am sure they were looking to improve and take that #1 spot this year.
In addition to Team RDC, other team names included: FlashBot, Kick Urb, Mojo Dojo Robot House, Overbaked Brownie, Beep Boob, PIC-Bot, SuperConduct, BotSec, DstreamPower, Battlemen, PD-GPT, and Tailgate Party.
The battles were exceptional with 6 rounds of points-based combat and 1 Last Bot Standing finale. The Marvell hosts kept meticulous count of each team’s points and had a colorful scoreboard where everyone could see the updated status in real-time – just like at a golf tournament.
We had all 18 robots repaired and ready for the finale battle, a testament to the quality robot builds from each of the teams, the acquired expertise from attendees to keep the robots running and repair them in battle, and the advanced expertise of our TeamWorx staff!
You can tell from the audio on the movie clips we shared from the battles that people are very excited, and intensely engaged in the fate of their robot and the excitement of competing.
