Aristocrat Vegas Robot Teambuilding
An Aristocrat Vegas Robot Teambuilding event at their Las Vegas headquarters off of Flamingo Road was a huge success with about 30 IT employees. Aristocrat is headquartered in Australia near Sydney and operates offices throughout the world, mostly in gaming locations.
Their Buffalo symbol is recognizable in almost every casino I visited, along with their elegant and unmistakable logo. Their games are beautiful and immersive and extremely popular with gambling folks. Needless to say their IT requirements are extremely high and sophisticated, and must have the best security available.
We gathered in the second of two buildings that make up the campus. We set-up in the cafeteria dining area and lobby, which was accented with a giant digital screen, shown in the background of the photo on the left above.
The set-up allowed for 5 team tables, each with uniquely neutral names, a large battle area, and several long tables for pizza. It also offered the advantage of other folks walking by to the cafeteria, and experiencing the joy and enthusiasm that comes from robot combat; Game knows game!
The winning build team, pictured above left, finished in an extremely fast time of 37:20 with the team name “Tomatoes”. Other popular names were Paper Clips and Waffles. All of the teams finished in pretty good times and we were able to get several rounds of melee style combat with all of the robots in the arena at the same time.
The battle winners, pictured above right, won the final “last-bot-standing” competition, outdueling the other 4 robots and 1 additional “Boba Fett” freelancer from upper management. They were thrilled as a team as the picture captures, and deserving!
A huge thank you to Aristocrat Technology for inviting us to the end of Flamingo Road, where gaming meets the mountains, and talented people make super fun games!
