Apple + Holder Team Building
Two amazing events with different but related companies highlighted our late July and early August schedule.
Robot Build and Battle is popular with a wide audience but our two most represented groups would be tech and engineers. Holder Construction is in the middle of building a mammoth Ai data center outside of Sparks Nevada, and Apple is in the middle of leveraging Ai like many other first class tech companies.
Their Venn diagrams also stretched to include building and battling robots. Apple hosted two groups of potential future talent in two cities, and we delivered the events at the same time. The venues were spectacular. I was witness to the Austin building which has the effect of transporting one into the future, or onto a space ship, or just into a really contemplative yet energetic feeling. Clean, modern architecture blended with natural light. Our host bought myself and my staff espresso drinks at the discounted yet highly elegant espresso bar. Amazing host.
“Everyone absolutely LOVED it—truly, I’ve never seen this level of excitement and energy from the community at an event before. The engagement, teamwork, and pure fun that came out of this experience were unmatched. It was a standout moment in our program, and one that I know will be remembered by participants long after the summer ends.”
Holder Construction hosted their event onsite at the construction site. We turned the conference room trailer into a six team build center with a battle arena. These folks were taking a break from building to have some fun and build relationships. They were also very competitive!
No better example was team “Black Lavender” who came in with a scorching fast time of 33:05 placing them 66th All-Time!
Almost every team finished shortly after, and and so we had time to have 5 rounds of points based combat and a last bot standing finale! The two best teams from the rounds of combat battled for a points based championship, and then the same two teams were the last two standing in the “Last Bot Standing” finale. Each team won one of these battles, but Black Lavender won the final battle, making them dual champions!
Congratulations to Holder for breaking the Top 100 All-Time build time!
A huge thank you to Apple and Holder for inviting us to your unique work sites, and for trusting us with your valued people!
