Salesforce Battle of the Bots Huge Dreamforce Success
Salesforce brought the Battle of the Bots to the Terra Gallery and Event Space and hosted 1,100 people at an amazing party as part of their Dreamforce Conference. Run Rev rocked the upstairs with some old school beats while we bashed the downstairs with 18 rounds of robot battles!
The event was 80’s themed including the Salesforce team all wearing matching “My Adidas” and video games from the 80’s including Mrs. Pac Man and Donkey Kong amongst a about a dozen. The robots were donned with glow in the dark balloons and lit internally by tiny led lights to create a magnificent effect, and to make sure the event seamlessly fit with the larger theme.
Salesforce created a customized arena and mobile scoring system utilizing the cloud to transmit real time results to two giant digital scoreboards. They also added cool features like the top score going to the top of the board, so you can see the leader – and all the results – change in real time, and they kept an all-time high score list for the entire night; brilliant.
The battles were relentless. Five-minute rounds of 8 robots all battling in a melee format, 1 point for each balloon popped and 3 points for a robot flip. The high score of the night was 23 – major outlier, followed by 16, and then 3 people tied at 11.
We delivered a battle every 10 minutes for a total of 18 consecutive rounds of battles in 3 hours with 1 & 2 people teams; approximately 215 people total of 1,100, or about 20% of attendees.
Finally, the Terra Gallery kicked us out at closing time and we had to say no. The crowd absolutely loved the battles, and coupled with Salesforce’s use of technology, it made for a spectacular event, and a truly unforgettable night!
A huge thank you to Salesforce for inviting us to be a part of the coolest party of the week!
