Boston Robot Team Event
A Boston Robot Team Event at the Craft Food Hall Project in Waltham, MA, played host to the end of year celebration for the New England Donor Services organization in late December.
Staff from NEDS were transplanted from their life saving work to the battle arena to celebrate another successful year. Teams were evenly divided, and drink tickets distributed to the Craft Food Hall Project wall of 30+ draft beverages, as the robot building got underway.
The freshly named Robosses, Loose Screw Destroyers, Purple Pulverizers and Battle Bot All-Stars competed to build their robot faster then each other and for a possible World Record time. Alas, the world record build was out of reach but the Purple Pulverizers completed their robot first and celebrated with a craft beverage!
As the battles continued and the beers flowed, the Robosses claimed the battle bot title! Fun was had by all and the NEDS team celebrated into the evening with catered food, party gifts, Amazon gift cards for the winning battle and build teams, and an additional gift card award to each teams’ MVP. Summing up the event, coordinator for NEDS Nina Udwin proclaimed, “we did indeed have a blast!”
NEDS serves thousands of donor families each year who have generously made the decision to donate and honors the wishes of those who registered as donors and gave the gift of life. Responsible for two of the 58 OPOs that make up the nation’s donation system, NEDS works with nearly 200 hospitals and serves 14 million people in our region, screening nearly 50,000 potential donor referrals annually. Inspired by their mission you can sign up to donate an organ or tissue here!
Thank you New England Donor Services for the brilliant work that you do and for including TeamWorx in your epic celebration! We look forward to an inspired year in 2020!
