Downtown San Francisco Team Building with DocuSign
Downtown San Francisco team building venues usually reflect the scarcity of space common to the world’s most densely populated and busiest cities. Not the case with our Robot Battles 2 event with DocuSign at 221 Main Street. The robot build and battle event was set among a forest of gigantic sky scrapers and perched atop a spectacular balcony 100 feet in the air. Webbed with succulents, an array of concrete and tile surfaces, mixed spots of artificial grass, and numerous people gathering locations, the balcony was stunning.
Cool breezes countered the glory of the sun as we built and battled robots outside. The teams drank wine and soda and got to know each other better, Seattle and Paris blending with folks from San Francisco.
3 teams of 6-7 people – teams Corkscrew, R2D2, and JARVISt (French for “JARVIS” – the “t” is silent) – spent about 1.5 hours building the robots. The fastest time was posted by team JARVISt at one hour, twenty minutes, and thirty two seconds (1:20:32), a mere 43 minutes off the World Record time of 38:45. This was expected as the Robot Battles 2 record times, and average times (about 1 hour) have all been set with teams of 8 to 10 people. A good metric to consider, if we have teams of 6 for Robot Battles 2 the expected build times will be in the 1.5 hour range.
The total event time was about 2.5 hours – with just over an hour of robot battles. Everyone had multiple chances to drive and/or battle in melee style combat with over 8 battles. JARVISt dominated the battles and won the last battle by literally ripping the attack arm clean off another robot. – unique and impressive!
A huge thank you to DocuSign for an excellent product we use in our office, and for a truly memorable event floating just above San Francisco sidewalks. We look forward to other groups from DocuSign beating the build times here and having an amazing experience building robots and battling!
