Downtown Los Angeles Team Building
Downtown Los Angeles team building can take many forms as it is a vibrant and alive city with an upward trending feel. We worked with Motorola to build robots and compete in a series of robot battles to determine a few winning teams. The team above won the build competition despite overcoming a mechanical error. We are proud to end our year with a 98.7% accuracy of out team kits, meaning they are almost always perfect. We have implemented new systems over the last two years to overcome human error almost completely. In this case the team actually had 1 incorrect part which they quickly diagnosed, alerted our staff, and received a new part immediately. Despite the set back they rallied and still built their robot first!
Before you judge their office attire it must be noted our program corresponded with the office “ugly sweater” contest. The people pictured above would look great in anything, and they are the winning build team! A side note, honorable mention to John for a truly unique “sweater” with an inlaid mirror – I didn’t see the final voting but somehow making us the center of his sweater seemed like a sure fire way to win over humans.
Once the battles began people’s true competitive spirit came out as they were highly engaged in a series of intense battles. We had 6 teams and a round robin tournament. It seemed like the smaller the person the greater the fight with this group. Our two battling champions were both under 5 feet 5 inches tall and looked demure from the outside – ouch big mistake. They had ferocious tigers living inside them that unleashed tactical warfare upon the unsuspecting office patrons.
The best part as always is how much fun everyone had together. We had numerous loud cheers, laughing, yelling, the thrill of robot battle wins, and overall an incredible day in the dark days of December, which were bright and sunny in LA. Thank you to Motorola and Norm for bringing us into their office and for competing with joy and happiness for all!
