Google Robot Battles Teambuilding
A Google Robot Battles Teambuilding featured 8 teams and over 60 people. Team building in Sunnyvale at the Google Cloud Campus is always a great time. The buildings offer easy access to get our robotic equipment into the building, and the people are always friendly and super accommodating. We were in the MP-1 Building which featured a fancy cafe where I could order any espresso drink for free; yes! This made for an “on-alert” host who may have talked too much.
The teams were building our Robot Build and Battle 2 robot with about 8 people per team. The winning team, pictured above, finished in just over 1-hour, placing them just outside the Top 25 Times. The groups finished remarkably close to each other with every other robot coming online almost immediately.
This made for great battles as we moved the tables to the outside of the room and created a battle area out of thin air! The battles were outrageous with all 8 robots going full tilt into each other, smashing, knocking off parts, losing wheels, cheering more, and trying to count their points!
We had many different winners of rounds in the points based battles, and finished with an exciting last bot standing competition for the championship! This final battle came down to two final robots who dueled for some time before one relented and lost its final balloon!
