Stotz John Deere Team Building with Robots in Las Vegas
A John Deere Team Building with Stotz Equipment had sales and service folks competing to build a robot faster than each other and to break a World Record. Ten teams, with about 6 people on each team, competed at the South Point Hotel Casino and Spa on Las Vegas Boulevard in our Robot Battles 1 team building.
Stotz Equipment is a John Deere dealership that sells and services John Deere equipment and machinery. John Deere is an American corporation that specializes in the manufacture of agricultural, construction, and forestry equipment, as well as diesel engines, drivetrains (axles, transmissions, gearboxes) used in heavy equipment, and lawn care equipment. Stotz Equipment is one of the many authorized dealerships of John Deere products and provides sales, service, parts and financing to customers in the agricultural, construction, and forestry industries.
The familiarity with drivetrains, axles, transmissions, and gearboxes was evident in the blazing hot robot build time of the winning team (pictured above) finishing at 28:15!!! (Twenty eight minutes and fifteen seconds). This time is good enough for 19th Place All Time from thousands of teams, over 10 years of competing!
Most teams finished in impressive times and a a few teams helped with the overall curve. Regardless of when they finished, they all came to battle with exceptionally well built robots that lasted late into the Las Vegas night. We peaked at all ten teams competing at the same time for about three rounds of melee style robot combat, and then we kept as many robots functional at the same time as possible.
In the end we took the time to rebuild and fix the robots as much as possible to prepare for one final last bot standing battle. A champion was crowned and everyone cheered and high-fived teammates and other battlers as they sensed an exceptional shared moment in their Las Vegas company adventure.
A huge thank you to Stotz for inviting me to join them in Las Vegas, and I hope to see more John Deere dealerships test themselves to build and battle robots!
