July Team Building Events
July Team Building Events were exciting at TeamWorx including events with Uber, Bill, Google, Tektronix, and Workday!
July in Portland Oregon is a true joy, and was surpassed only by the energy and action from the crew at Tektronix! The winning team (pictured above center) built our Robot Build and Battle 2 robot in a blazing fast time of 43:21 making them 7th all-time on our World Record list! The battles were even more impressive with multiple rounds of hard hitting and high scoring robot combat! Overall a highly impressive group of high end measurement device experts!
Workday hosted our Robot Build and Battle 1 event outside in the center of the campus at their international HQ . About 50 people from their Machine Learning Lab learned our machine. The winning team, pictured above left-top, built the robot as if they had applied hyperparameter tuning to it, in a time of 34:27! This was good enough for 69th place all-time!
Bill, formerly Bill.com, rewarded a creative group of interns on their final day with a fun and energizing team building event. Most notable from this event was the effective modifications to the attack arm. Pictured above were two excellent examples. The “Joust with side bend” and the “Ramp” both worked extremely well, with the “Ramp” winning the “Last Bot Standing Finale!” I credit the ramp as the fist modified design to show a clear advantage when flipping the robots! Congratulations young folks, your creativity shined bright!
Google rounded out the month with a group of 35 people and 8 teams. The winning team, pictured above, completed the robot with only 3 people below 45 minutes for an impressive result. We had several rounds of all-bot combat with impressive driving and tactical skill. Most importantly, they all had a really fun time building with each other and battling!
