The skills they have that make them great initially, don’t always translate as the company grows and their responsibilities are significantly increased. Luckily there exists the TeamWorx Leadership Training Sacramento and a book that can tell us exactly what to do on a daily basis to be a better leader. The Leadership Challenge by Kouzes and Posner, is the foundation of our interactive leadership training Sacramento program.

Based on research of millions of leadership examples from people in business and in large organizations, the book distills the “practices” that make any of us great leaders. We translate these practices into fun activities that allow you to “practice the practices” with each other. The training is insightful, interactive, and practical. Direct Technology was able to immediately implement the skills they learned in the training with themselves, and with the teams they manage.

Over two full days of interactive leadership training with Direct Technology we covered all 5 of the Leadership Practices outlined in the Leadership Challenge. Beginning with an in depth look at our own personal values, and our shared values on day 1, we transitioned into creating an Inspired Vision. One of the most difficult things for leaders to do is to think into the future and then translate a vision that inspires their constituents. Often lost in this practice is an important nuance, that this vision must reflect your constituents hopes, dreams and aspirations, rather than giving them your own.

Day 2 of the interactive leadership training consisted of learning how to Challenge the Process including tips from the book and customized strategies from our innovation team training. We completed the day touching on how to Enable Others to Act and how to properly Encourage the Heart.
