Monterey Robot Battles Team Building
A Monterey Robot Battles Team Building event at the Quail Lodge & Golf Club was a huge success with First Republic. We hosted talented folks from all aspects of security from on-site physical to cyber security, from reactive to proactive.
“Thank you so much for hosting our Team Building event at our annual Management Offsite at Quail – we had the best time!!”
The winning team (pictured above) built the battle robot in a blazing fast time of 38:36 (thirty eight minutes and thirty six seconds). They used proactive planning and reactive adaptation to out-build the other seven teams.
The venue was perfect for about 50 people all building robots and then battling. It held eight tables of about 5 or 6 people per team, and there was additional space to battles down the center aisle. Teams took advantage to battle 8 rounds of points based combat with many thrilling victories, robot flips, and last minute balloon pops.
We concluded with three different themed battles including, most popular driver, least qualified driver, and best driver. Each category battled to the end in a last robot standing competition. We ended with three champions, and one best driver winner. The final competition included the boss, which made navigating victory a little more complicated. Nonetheless, in the end after a long and exciting battle to stay in the game, the boss was sunk by a clever balloon popping maneuver worthy of a champion!
I would recommend Quail Lodge and Golf Club to any corporate group looking for a relaxing, tranquil, and inspiring space to have a meeting in the Monterey/Carmel area. It is East of downtown Carmel located in a beautiful meadow and valley. The golf course winds through the property adding to the spacious, soft breeze, feel, and to the overall relaxation.
First Republic has a wonderful small business story :
“On July 1, 1985, we opened our doors at 201 Pine Street in San Francisco with fewer than 10 colleagues and only one office. With an enterprise value of $8.8 million, we were one of the smallest banks in the United States, out of approximately 14,000.
By our 35th anniversary, in July 2020, we had over 5,000 colleagues across more than 80 offices in seven states. Through organic growth, First Republic has become the 14th largest U.S. bank with an enterprise value greater than $19 billion. This represents a record of growth in total enterprise value of 25% per annum compounded for 35 years.”
A huge thank you to First Republic for brining us out for a robot build and battle team building!
