NYC Robot Team Building with Citadel
An exciting NYC Robot Team Building event with Citadel at 75 Rockefeller was a huge success!
Citadel is used to exploring the unknown as they capture undiscovered market opportunities by empowering extraordinary people to pursue their best and boldest ideas on a daily basis. So adapting to building a robot faster than the other teams was just another day at the office; except more fun!
The team pictured (above/right) holding the built robot, known to us as “team 8”, appropriately won the team event and finished in a spectacular time of 59:08! They finished literally seconds ahead of four other teams that all cascaded to the finish line.
The great part is that we began the melee style battles with 4 completed bots, which quickly became 10, and then all 13 robots battling for the last three rounds including the coveted “Last Bot Standing” competition!
We had multiple rounds of exciting combat with scores soaring as high as 15 points and as low as 4 points to win a round. The venue was 31 stories into the sky and had ample room for all 130 attendees, 13 teams, and a large area to battle.
The team pictured (above/left) holding the “giant nut” won the “Last Bot Standing” competition, beating all 12 other bots by surviving without having its balloons popped, getting flipped, or pushed out of the arena!
The “Giant Nut” was a custom prize modeled after the actual Giant Nut™ made famous and still the trophy for the BattleBots™ World Championship. Our Nut weighed in at over 22lbs and can actually be used to secure a bridge. It is an excellent conversation starter as people can not help but ask, “Is that a real nut?” Ultimately it ended up in the hands of Zach our fearless leader and inspiration for the event.
Thank you to Citadel and Zach for inviting us to New York City for a team building high a top the Rockefeller 75 budling!
