San Diego Robot Team-Building
A San Diego Robot Team-Building event with Freudenburg was a huge success! Over 70 engineers in nine teams a top the Marina Terrace at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort.
The team pictured above finished the Battle Robot in a spectacular time of 44:49 (forty four minutes and forty nine seconds) placing them 7th all-time on the World Record Build list.
Freudenberg is an international company famous for sealants of all types. “With the world’s largest range of seals, Freudenberg Sealing Technologies offers products for everything from dental drills and filling lines to wind turbines, aircraft and automotive transmissions.”
Engineers universally love the Robot Build and Battle event and this was no different. Participants from around the world made a point of telling us what a great time they had, and several said it was “the best team building they have ever done.” The ladder is clearly our favorite compliment.
The battles were super exciting and somewhat exhilarating as the ocean and bay air collided against the nearby sailboats and rattled a familiar noise across our bow. Superseding this however was the roar of the crowd as the robots smashed into and flipped each other over trying to pop balloons or push each other out of the arena. There were many winners including two overall champions that won 2 different Last Bot competitions.
We all decided to let them leave without a final and decisive battle. They were both so excited and charged up after winning against the odds we all decided let’s roll with the good feelings right out into the San Diego bliss.
A huge thank you to Freudenberg for sharing their wonderful folks with us for 2-hours and the invitation to join you in beautiful San Diego! Congratulations for placing 7th overall, an incredible accomplishment considering the volume and quality of competitors.
