Team Building at CityCenter Las Vegas
A team building at CityCenter in Las Vegas at the Waldorf Astoria with Battle Robots was a huge success.
Mayer Hoffman and McCann has over 200 offices throughout the United States and they brought many of their top leaders together for a strategic meeting in Las Vegas. The CityCenter Waldorf Astoria is Las Vegas elegance – with luxury accommodations, dining, and meetings all just feet from the Las Vegas Strip.
CityCenter has the look and feel of a modern world, with circular drives and curving, sprawling buildings. All together, an environment that is at once calming and peaceful, while also retaining the attributes of a CityCenter!
Mayer, Hoffman, McCann added Robot Battles team building to their busy meeting schedule to help forge additional relationships and enhance existing relationships between constituents, and add meaningful teamwork oriented shared experiences for exceptional leaders. These accountants were lively and exuberant, and showed real leadership and dynamic teamwork in route to successfully building a robot in less then 45 minutes.
Fifteen teams in total, with only 2 or 3 teams that emphasized relationships and added a few additional minutes above the 45 minute mark. The rest of the teams scorched the build segment with the fastest build time going to the team pictured above at 38:37! (Thirty eight minutes and 37 seconds)
As it turns out, the same team also won a chance to battle the CEO in a best of three, one-on-one, winner take all tournament finale!
In order to get to the finale, each team battled in several rounds of melee (all bots in at the same time) combat in a points based competition. After everyone had a chance to battle, and some people more than one chance, we selected the best team from each group: accounting, audit, and SMD. These teams chose their best driver/battler and faced off in a winner take all, last bot standing competition. The skill level was impressive and battles were hyper defensive for a few minutes before SMD burst through and eliminated both of the other bots!
SMD carried their bot to the main stage where the CEO awaited with his premium edition, CEO Class, super bot! SMD had the experience and timing of winning the “gladiator” route, while the CEO had the clear technical and engineering advantage. Alas, technology and engineering prevailed over a Hollywood ending, and although SMD fought valiantly, in-fact bringing the CEO-bot with-it in a dramatic “fall from the three foot high stage” crowd pleasing climatic finish, it was the CEO bot who prevailed with one previous victory in hand and landing just micro-seconds after the SMD-bot on the floor.
A huge thank you to Mayer, Hoffman, McCann and the Waldorf Astoria for an ultra classy and super fun robot battles build and battle competition!
