OPSWAT Teamwork Training and Team Building
Teamwork Training and Team Building together help teams to catapult forward in their ability to produce positive results from team interactions. OPSWAT is the global leader in critical cyber security including 98% of all nuclear power facilities. Teamwork is critical to combat highly aggressive opponents with malicious intent, talent, time, resources, and an endgame with significant and spectacular potential damage. OPSWAT is up to the task!
We had the honor of working with the top 12 members of the OPSWAT team for a full day of teamwork training and team building. The format was highly experiential giving people with immense talent the chance to maximize their combined talent through a series of engaging team challenges.
Teamwork isn’t leaned in a book – although important concepts can be learned – it is the repeated practice of team members doing their best together, to achieve goals that can be measured, that allows teams to improve. In other words “practice”.
With the combination of 3-4 hours of carefully chosen teamwork activities and the Robot Battles Team Building event, we have a unique opportunity to practice, and then compete against a metric which has over three years of data to compare ourselves. The average build time for the Robot Battles 1 robot, which is chronicled in detail here on our blog, is 45 minutes, and under 35 minutes puts you in the top 10% all time.
Ideally you would want all of the teams attending your teamwork training to finish building the robot with above average times if the training worked. In our case all three teams finished under 38 minutes and we had one team under 35 minutes.
The OPSWAT team was reassembled several times throughout the training so everyone had the chance to work with everyone else in a competitive, fun, interactive format that tested teamwork. In addition we had a one-on-one communication activity that allowed us to focus in on clutch communication when it matters.
It was real joy to watch people who perform at a really high level everyday, have the chance to really work on blending those talents in a unique way that worked for each team.
A huge thank you to OPSWAT for inviting me in to work with your senior leaders, and for your amazing engagement!
