TeamWorx Spring/Summer Team Building
We got super busy over the TeamWorx Spring/Summer Team Building season and fell behind on blogging our adventures. This is our attempt to catch up with at least most of the robot events. We had some other exciting events including a Yosemite Valley Amazing Adventure Race, and several Paint a Giant Team Mural events.
Groups from Meta, Netflix, Credit One, and Modern Treasury made up most of our Robot Build and Battle events. Pictured above are nine different teams that each won the build competition in their event.
We started in April at MPK 22 in the Cortes Bank Room with Meta which posted a build time of 43:10 about 2 minutes faster than the average build time, followed a week later by Meta team that narrowly beat them with a time of 42:15!
We rolled into May with another group from Meta who were Quality Engineers and all posted quality times, followed by a trip to Netflix where the winning team posted a scorching fast time of 37:11, just 11 seconds from making the top 100 All-Time Build Times.
In June things heated up with several Large Mural Team Events and multiple Robot Build and Battle events. The month started off fast with a group from Modern Treasury and a Meta team at 1190 Discovery Way in Sunnyvale that posted an amazingly fast build time of 34:35 – placing them 79th All-Time from thousands of teams!
Credit One hosted an amazing Build and Battle event in Las Vegas which included 8 teams. Thanks to the facility staff we were able to use an empty floor in the building which gave the whole event a “robot warehouse” feel and allowed us to yell as loud as we wanted with out stopping the application process! The facilities team fielded their own team and did quite well in the build and even better in the battles!
Netflix ended the month with a spectacular event with 12 teams competing! They finished the month in record setting fashion posting the fastest time of the year so far with a mind bending time of 30:08!!! This places them 31st All Time from thousands of teams!!!!
