Virtual Team Event with Gilead
A Virtual Team Event with Gilead was a huge success. Gilead was started in 1987 in Foster City here in San Francisco bay area. Named after an Old Testament region in Jordan, Gilead had become central to the fight against COVID-19. Their treatment remdesivir was recently approved for temporary use to treat COVID-19 with some really encouraging results in a gold standard randomized, double blind, placebo controlled Phase 3 study.
On this day we were enjoying a well deserved virtual fun day together. Many new employees at Gilead started after the pandemic and have not had in person time with their colleagues to get to know them better. This 4-hour event was the perfect recipe to bring this stellar crew closer together, and reward them for hard work with excellent results.
“I just wanted to tell you that I think today’s event was absolutely fantastic – thank you for finding this company and getting everything going!!!”
8 Unique Virtual Events Available to Your Team
Gilead had close to 400 people which had us running two concurrent Zoom sessions of about 200 people each. The schedules ran perfectly in sync so from a user perspective it felt like one large event for everyone. Gilead began with a delightful combination of Speed Teams and The Corporate Virtual Escape Room. We saw this combination create a World Record earlier in the week for Qualtrics.
Speed Teams is the perfect way to warm up teams – both their brains and their teamwork. It encourages dialogue, speaking out, and interacting. Its hard not to know your teammates much better by the end of a Speed Teams event.
The combination paid off with the second fastest time ever recorded for a Virtual Escape Room at 31:44! (thirty-one minutes and forty four seconds). Congratulations team #21! For those wondering what the best strategy for beating the Escape Room is, collaborate together on every challenge or do the challenges in parallel, the jury is decidedly out. We have had World record holders achieve greatness with both strategies and with hybrid versions. This Gilead team was an instance where they did the challenges in parallel and it really paid off.
Gilead took an hour break for lunch which was appreciated by all as we were able to feed our brains and stretch our eyeballs. Two hours on Zoom is normally a long tedious adventure in human attention span, however, virtual team building is just the opposite. Participants are so engaged in the fun activities that even 4 hours seems remarkably easy and rewarding.
We finished with a two hour Who Stole Anti Matter event with vigorous engagement and some solid results. When you have dozens of teams competing you are likely to get some spectacular results – beyond the normal. Indeed, we had one group get a 10 out of 10 on the Who Stole Anti-Matter finding the smoking gun to convict and creating an incredibly accurate narrative. Congratulations to team Dark Red!
Overall a huge success with hundreds of people all enjoying a virtual event together. A huge thank you to Gilead to trusting us with your event, and with the temporary happiness of your most important assets! We had a great time with your folks, and look forward to more teams from a planet saving company helping to give us all hope!
