Energy Company Team Building with Total SMG19 Yields World Record Robot Build Time
Energy company team building that works with international senior executives is a challenging task, and one met well by building robots together, competing against other teams, and trying for for a World Record! In this case executives from Total Energy were successful in setting a new World Record robot build time ousting previous champions Kaiser Permanente. A Kaiser Permanente team building event yielded a World Record robot build time of 39 minutes and 15 seconds for the Speed and Skill Model 2 robot, eclipsing the previous record held by Edwards Life Sciences of 39 minutes and 34 seconds.
The team pictured above from Total SMG19 Group demolished the old records with a build time of 30 minutes and 20 seconds! It was a feat of teamwork not seen but for a few instances in thousands of examples. A very efficient and jovial group posted a record time that will stand until the next super-team pulls off the seemingly impossible.
Total is the world’s fourth-largest oil and gas company and a world-leading solar energy operator through SunPower. With operations in more than 130 countries, they have nearly 100,000 employees who are fully committed to better energy. It is no wonder they have the hands on skills and project management experience to quickly master the planning and execution required to build a robot faster than every other team from every other company.
What makes robot team building truly special is the programs ability to seamlessly merge different parts of the same company – sales, marketing, engineering, production, installation, senior management, finance, HR and operations – immediately into functional teams. The second half of the Speed and Skill program is fun and competitive as teams compete in real time against each other in a series of robot teamwork challenges. The competitions start easy to help each person get used to operating the robot, and then get progressively more challenging, and ending with a fun, fast , and furious finale!
