Dropbox sets another record in SF Team Building Event
Dropbox is 2 for 2 in robot team building world records at a SF team building event. Once again they broke a record previously held by Facebook in a close call with the Serving Architecture team coming in at 38:04! The previous record held by the Content Delivery Network team at Facebook was 38:45. Considering we have dozens of clients every year and hundreds of teams, breaking the record is a truly commendable feat of precision and teamwork. It requires everyone being on the same page, planning ahead, preparing in advance, and leadership when things don’t go perfect.
The best part is after completing the robots, 9 teams battled each other 1 on 1, and then they all battled at one time in an “all-bot-melee!” We had two winning teams, one team one the most wins, and one team one the survivor contest. Everyone had a blast. We were all momentarily transported away from our day-to-day grind into a wonderful world of robots, teamwork, and fun competition.
San Francisco offers some very unique venues for a SF team building event, especially robot team building. This event took place at The Lab, with large windows and wood floors, and a DJ to set the perfect mission district mood. It’s not the Fairmont and the outside environment is not necessarily the cleanest part of the city, but once you are inside it becomes a true oasis from the city. One advantage of the robot team building is that it invites almost any type of venue. People more or less expect a robot “garage” when they hear “robot battles”, so many types of venues can be accessible from ballrooms to patios to eclectic venues that may not otherwise appeal to a corporate audience.
Robot team building works well dressed up as well. We have had great success at many of the top hotels in San Francisco, and the south bay including one spectacular venue recently the Mountain Winery.
