CSI Team Event with EA in Half Moon Bay
Many groups have done our robot team building event, and many have done both robot competition formats, and are looking for a follow-up event that matches its excellence. We have many great options but perhaps the best fit for guaranteed returned excellence is our CSI team event. The event is named “iCSI” for International Crime Scene Investigators as they are trying to solve and prove who stole “Anti-Matter” from Mattermatters Corp. It is as close to solving an actual crime as is possible without actually being a CSI.
The leadership team from the digital platform at EA are obviously a super high performing team with incredibly talented people. This is actually a perfect audience for a very difficult challenge of proving a case in 2 to 4 hours. Each team sent iCSIs to the evidence room where evidence from the scene is located, bagged, tagged, and ready for further inspection. Using UV flashlights and the all important Orange Glasses made famous on the TV show, investigators discovered several key pieces of evidence to bring back to the their teams.
Back at the team tables their teammates were busy interrogating the suspects, processing fun evidence such as fingerprints, blood, hair, ink, and DNA, and putting all the pieces together to make sense of the evidence. Once the halfway point passes in the program, teams turn to to having intense discussions about what evidence they have, what evidence matters – i.e. proves someone actually took the Anti-Matter, and how a story could explain the facts.
The venue for our event was a truly unique place for executive type meetings near Half Moon Bay. Miramar Farms is a beautifully manicured farm with a dedicated meeting space that includes meeting space for about 10 to 20 people, an outdoor patio, and full kitchen with spectacular fresh food. The people at Miramar were down to earth and helpful, actually clearing out a shed to make for a perfect evidence room!
In the end teams did a great job discovering and piecing together evidence to know who stole the Anti-Matter, and were well on their way to proving the case when time ran out. Alas, they had bigger issues to discuss than saving the imaginary planet – like how to handle the intense growth coming from a game maker that is currently on fire!
