Facebook BattleBot Team Building SF Bay Area
We were with Facebook at a great venue for BattleBot Team Building SF Bay Area events in downtown Campbell. Campbell is a beautiful south bay city with a downtown area as fun and vibrant as any town anywhere – with restaurants, trees, architecture, and people all coming together to make something special.
More importantly Facebook rocked this venue with an incredible display of robot fighting. 16 teams competed to be champion at the build competition, the team battle competition and the tournament of champions.
Team #6 crushed the build the competition with a time of 32:39 winning by a safe margin over a slew of other competitors that finished just past 35 minutes. The team battles ensued immediately as per our new format. Like a good rave, backyard BBQ, or birthday party, the energy started slowly with just 2 teams battling and then before you know it the entire room was erupting in cheers and jeers as robots fell and conquered in 8 battles spread around the giant ballroom. After every person battled at least once, and teams battled as many competitors as possible, our schedule diverted to a “best driver” all team tournament of champions.
All 16 teams competed in a round robin style event! Team # 9 pictured above were the ultimate battle champions. They had to win 4 times in a row including a three bot finale to take home bragging rights!
Our clients were amazed at the level of engagement and enthusiasm they saw in their team. Our belief is that the robot is a universal “Rosetta Stone” of sorts; molding diverse personalities into one functioning unit symbolically and literally. Upon this foundation teams take their creation into battle to test it’s merits and their own as drivers – with the support of the whole team who built the robot and built you up with cheers!
A huge thank you to Vance, Ashley, and Amber and the whole Facebook team for being so awesome and bringing us out to your event!
