LinkedIn has Amazing Team Building with Robots
What an Amazing Team Building at LinkedIn. The positivity and encouraging attitudes truly exemplified what great corporate teams need to be successful. I really got the feeling that these people loved their jobs and the people they work with. We had team members from Dublin, Singapore and the Bay Area.
It was all warm welcomes, jokes and laughter when I came in. We organized 6 teams.
- Team Foobot 5000
- Team Hello Kitty
- Team Moose Jockey
- Team Johnny Walker #5
- Team Zabijacze ( I think it meant killers in Dutch)
- Team Zedbotz
Team Johnny Walker #5 won our robot build competition with an amazing time of 38.07 (thirty eight minutes and zero seconds). Team Hello Kitty and Foobot 5000 were right behind them with times around 40 minutes.
The battles were the best part as the enthusiasm carried over to pure joy on the battlefield. We had some decisive wins by Hello Kitty and Johnny Walker!
Overall we had numerous take-downs (when a robot is flipped) which elicited even higher levels of cheering. More was to come!
We brought two prototypes for our new Robot Battles 2 team building and they were a big hit! The numerous smaller Battle Bot 1 robots teamed up together and swarmed the larger Robot Battles 2 robots and tried to take them down. The larger robots initially held their ground despite being out numbered, but alas, teamwork won the day and we actually had two large bot take-downs! Quite impressive!
The people from LinkedIn battled until the bots were falling apart beyond regular repair possibility!
The team had an amazing time! It far exceeded my (our) expectations. It was one of the best team building events we’ve had – it brought the kid out in everyone. The team absolutely enjoyed themselves. I’m not sure how to beat this during our next summit 😊 Matt was amazing as our host. Thank you for all your help with this event.
