HM Clause Modesto Team Building
Modesto Team Building with HM Clause was outstanding with eight teams battling for robot supremacy in about 2 hours. HM Clause delivers high quality vegetable seeds tailored to local environments. Driving to their office in Modesto for the event you get a small taste of an enormous business in the central valley. Growing specific vegetables tailored for specific outcomes – such as tomatoes for a specific brand of ketchup or spaghetti sauce – is huge business. HM Clause helps farmers to meet these specific outcomes starting with the perfect seed.
The enormity of the central valley is obvious if you drive from Sacramento to Los Angeles, or even better from Redding to San Diego, and Modesto sits as one of its primary processors. Although nearby Sacramento may be a larger city, nothing in Sacramento – including the rice port – comes close to the scale of warehouses and processing in this one area of Modesto. Because we don’t see it from the 99 Highway, for most of us visually it does not exist. Very interesting to learn and be exposed to the back-end of the giant business of our central valley.
We were fortunate to work with their customer service and sales folks who were enthusiastic and up for the challenge. Teams Destructo Devils, Killer Tomatoes, Cuties, Smashing Pumpkins, Kratos, Generator, and Azlan all competed to build robots faster than each other. Alas there could be only one robot build winner – which was team Killer Tomatoes!
The battles were outstanding with an abundance of smashing robots, robot flips, and balloon popping. We had 5 rounds + one bonus round so everyone battled once and then best drivers went at it for the final round. It was tough to crown a battle champion as everyone was having such a good time cheering and yelling the scores were a bit unreliable, and each round a different team won! Actually this is also one of the best results possible as everyone went home feeling like a conqueror, and hopefully excited about the world of robot combat!
