Best Bay Area Team Building
Our Best Bay Area Team Building in December is mostly on one blog this month, We had many very special clients and ran out of time and energy to make a proper blog for each event. Our apologies in advance! Please see details from a sampling of our December events below – happy 2020!

Adobe hosted a meeting for their AR folks in Half Moon Bay where teams Aero-D2, Kids Menu, Fantastic 4, Vultron, and Big-Aero all battled for the World Record Robot Build Time and against each other. Aero is an amazing product from Adobe that allows you to bring your design ideas into the world of AR, and visualize prototypes in the AR and VR space. Needless to say we had very smart engineers who were excited to build robots and battle! The Half Moon Bay Lodge served as the ideal venue with a great space for six teams to build the robots, and then a covered outdoor patio with tile floors that worked with the robots to create energetic and thrilling battles! Kids Menu took the build competition with a scorching time of 30:30 followed closely by the other teams. A great end to a long day of meetings with energy literally breathed back into the team! Thank you Adobe!!

Saleae (pictured above) hosted a two robot building competition at their spacious warehouse facility on the outskirts of South San Francisco. Saleae designed, and now manufacturers and sells, a unique electronic measuring device that makes previously cumbersome measurements easy to do and monitor.Team Cybertruck and Ready Robot One competed to build the robot faster, with team RRO setting a top time of 25:45! This would have been the World Record 1 1/2 years ago, and surely puts them in the top 10 times of all time.
The battles were outstanding – staged in their warehouse with a steel/wire fence making an enclosed battle arena. We battled two bots versus two bots in a team competition – adding two pre-built bots to spice it up. Several rounds of melee and last survivor formats led to the final destruction of the bots and an end to a perfect robot afternoon! Thank you Saleae!

Blu Bracket employs cyber security veterans with decades of experience to tackle the most cutting edge and demanding cyber threats of our time, including hardware and software. They assembled to build and battle robots at their headquarters before heading out on the party bus . Dispersed to far reaches of the office layout, each with a unique building environment – team Blue against a wall with a long, thin, rectangular, mounted, counter, team Green on the floor, and team Red in a Luxury Suite with conference table and glass enclosure. Teams Red Scare, Veranators (Blue) and Green Lantern were all close with Veranators pulling out the build with a top 10% time of 32:00 minutes even. Veranators also won the battle competition before boarding the party bus for a well deserved night out!
Facebook is a great client for robot building and battling, and we are very thankful for all the teams that compete on a regular basis. We had two different teams from Facebook, one in Menlo Park and one in downtown SF. The afternoon event was 20+ floors into the sky in a room with large windows and great natural light. It featured a conference table format with benches on wheels. We set the two teams – Cookie Crushers and All Stars – at either end of the table, and both built the bot in above average times of 42:22 for CC and 44:42 for the All Stars. The battles were great as we utilized the benches and walls to create an enclosed arena which led to more frequent attacks and accelerated battles! Team All Stars squeaked out a victory in the battles for a very balanced afternoon.
In the morning we were in my favorite meeting room so far at Facebook, the Vanilla room, which is spacious and robot feeling with high industrial ceilings and exposed pipes. Teams Unibot, Duocorn, and Robocorn, all battled for robot building supremacy with Unibot edging the other two teams with a time of 36:15, and winning the melee round with 3 victories and the last survivor battles with all but a 1/2 point of the total available. Thank you again to Facebook for two amazing robot events.

Roblox is my daughters favorite online game to play so it was a huge treat to deliver our best bay area team building event onsite at their campus in San Mateo. Four teams including ExtractTransformersLoad, Data Bots, Thunderflacons, and Nova Hyperion, all built robots with Nova Hyperion placing the fastest build time of 40:58 and winning the build competition. Databots took revenge in the battles, winning 4 of the melee contests! Roblox finished by giving me some awesome swag for my daughters which made dad a hero on his return home!
