Local Sacramento Team Building
A local Sacramento team building event with Mead and Hunt engineering crew was a smashing success; literally! Three teams of about 6 people each competed to build a battle robot faster than the other teams, and for a World Record time. The TeamWorx Robot Battles team building event combines a teamwork robot building activity, with an entertaining battle activity, for the prefect corporate team building.
The team pictured above won the build competition with a blazing fast time of 32:01 (thirty two minutes and one second) placing them 39th all time on our under 37 minutes list. Great job – especially considering hundreds of companies and thousands of teams have competed to build the same robot faster!
All three teams finished well under the average build time of 45 minutes, demonstrating that working in an engineering office makes for good robot builders.
Everyone’s personality came out in our epic robot battles session, which included six rounds of points-based combat and then four rounds of last robot standing competition. The points based competition had mostly even scoring with one team edging out three wins by a few points to take the overall title.
The last bot standing battles allowed individuals to compete for themselves. After four preliminary rounds we had our final four contestants. In this case it included three men and one woman.
All four contestants had demonstrated true battle skill in obtaining their position in the final. Outnumbered in terms of gender, the woman won in incredibly dramatic fashion.
After prolonged skillful fighting two of the bots were eliminated and she faced off 1 v 1 – “mano y mano”.
What began as Mayweather defensive fight ended with a Muhammad Ali style knockout! She charged her robot from across the playing field and smashed perfectly into the other bot and flipped it over and landed on top for the decisive final victory, and Roman Colosseum style fist pumps and cheering erupted throughout the room; and she was an instant robot battling hero!
A huge thank you to Mead and Hunt for an inspiring afternoon of Sacramento team building!
