Amazon Austin Robot TeamBuilding
An Amazon Austin Robot TeamBuilding event in Austin Texas was a huge success for about 100 Robotics Deployment personnel from around the country.
Inside the Amazon offices we marshaled 15 teams of robot builders and battlers to set-up their own table, gather some chairs, and listen to a quick introduction.
The clock started and the teams dove immediately into their team kits, assigned team captains, divided the 4 parts of the robot between themselves, and began the journey towards a completed battle robot.
Robot Build and Battle 1 is the original Robot Team Building event and has endured for almost a decade, with thousands of participants from hundreds of companies and government organizations.
One thing associated with Amazon is being fast, and robot deployment is at the heart of blazing fast shipping delivery times. It is no surprise that the winning team finished in an amazing time of 31:10 (thirty one minutes and ten seconds)! This places them 36th All Time from hundreds of competing teams over close to a decade of events. A truly impressive performance under tight quarters and ample competition.
The other 14 teams finished mostly under 45 minutes, so our “all-bot melee style combat” got heated up on-time!
We had most of the 15 battle robots active for most of the battles, as the robot deployment folks knew how to build a quality and reliable robot in addition to being fast! The battles were super exciting, set within what could be a called a “Fight Club” style environment with vigorous cheering and exhalating of positive battle maneuvers surrounding the battle arena. It was an amazing display of energy, enthusiasm, glee, and joyful cheering!
A huge thank you to Amazon in Austin Texas for bringing our team building event to your campus. It was a pleasure working with folks from around the country and sharing an inspiring experience!
