Intuitive Surgical Robot Teambuilding
An Intuitive Surgical Robot Teambuilding was a huge success in Atlanta Georgia. Eighteen teams from three regions competed to build the robot faster than each other and for the World Record.
The winning build team finished in a surgical time of 40:20 (forty minutes and twenty seconds) placing them 4th All-Time!
Many teams finished under 45 minutes which allowed the robot battles preliminary rounds to begin early. Once we had all 18 robots operational at the same time, we commenced with multiple rounds of points based combat on the center stage in the main ballroom. The bots surrounded the stage, while the drivers and teams observed in a makeshift stadium seating like atmosphere with hundreds pf phones filming the spectacle.
The cheers were felt through the vibrations in the ground, as well as the thundering noises synchronized by the spontaneous reactions to robot flips and balloon pops! It was enthusiasm, engagement, and excitement personified.
This was the best team event we have done in over a decade, if not forever! …
The Robot Build and Battle feels like an annual event!
Helping to create this atmosphere were our eight robot-expert staff who are students from the Georgia Institute of Technology Medical Robotics team. They had a great time assisting the teams when needed, and forging new relationships with folks in the their field of medical robotics.
Its no wonder Intuitive Surgical were great at building battle robots, as they are the company responsible for the Intuitive Da Vinci 5!
