A Box Mountain View Teambuilding featured Robots Team Building Activities with five teams competing at their headquarters in downtown.
Box is a cloud-based content management and file sharing company that was founded in 2005 by Aaron Levie and Dylan Smith. The company’s headquarters are in Redwood City, California, but it has 13 office locations and employees work remotely and on-site.
Box’s platform is designed to help businesses manage their content lifecycle, from creating and sharing files to co-editing, adding e-signatures, and more. The company claims that 67% of Fortune 500 companies use Box.
Our Robot Build and Battle 1 team building is very popular in Redwood City, and we deliver events onsite at companies offices or at a local community center for an offsite experience.
Five teams competed to build the robot faster with the fastest team (pictured above) posting a time of 41:00 (forty-one minutes exactly), four minutes below the average build time.
Once the building of all of the robots was completed, we pushed tables to the outside perimeter of the room to clear space for a battle arena. We created a box in the middle of the room. Getting “out of the box” in this case is not good, and usually leads to the other team scoring a point.
Boxing in your opponent, and popping their balloons, on the other hand, is almost always great. Boxing with your attack arm: striking, bobbing, weaving and dodging, are all moves that can lead to points being scored or avoid other teams scoring on you!
The five teams battled five rounds, letting everyone have a 2-minute opportunity to battle using a robot! The battles were super exciting, with scoring increasing with each round as battlers became more adept and familiar with the robots. We finished, as always, with a last bot standing finale, where a true champion was raised on to a box and honored, if only momentarily, as a champion!
