Corporate Robot Team Building with Global Engineers and Senior Leaders
Corporate Team Building at NFL Stadiums can take many forms and having a Corporate Robot Team Building event at an NFL stadium, or next to a an NFL stadium, is one of the best. My bucket list was checked when I delivered a Corporate Robot Team Building at the Denver Broncos Stadium, Invesco Field at the time. Outside of Boston at the Patriots famous Gillette Stadium, we weren’t actually inside the stadium, but at the Renaissance Marriott attached to Gillette Stadium; which is the next best thing. Engineers and Senior Executives at DePuy from all parts of the world engaged in building Robots together and competing in a fun series of team robot competitions. They were all close, and each team placed at least once in the top three and multiple teams won events. Mostly, we were all glad Tom Brady wasn’t in the competition! I was very proud to be a part of this experience because of the ROI it provided DePuy. High level global leaders quickly formed relationships with team members, and the shared experience for the whole group gave them all a common language to build on and “break the ice” in any conversation throughout the conference.
Corporate Robot Team Building is especially good with engineers and senior executives because it combines a comfort with mechanical precision and expert level human communicators on the same teams. Teams that identify these strengths and leverage them for maximum efficiency and results inevitably win more of the competitions. In the Corporate Robot Team Building competitions some people are great with controlling the robot under pressure, and many people are not. Often, it is how the team encourages those team members that are not comfortable that determines the winning team. Coaching and encouragement pay real dividends, and ironically it is the human element that wins the robot competition!
