Corporate Robot Team Event!
Google warriors from Revenue Projection battled to loud cheers in a Corporate Robot Team Event! Four teams built battle style robots competing to build them accurately and faster than the other teams. The build is a great way for people to forge new relationships or build on existing ones. It requires team communication and collaboration for success. Our build champions are pictured above!
Following the build we competed in a round robin style tournament where everyone had a chance to battle a fellow Googler at least once. After crowning a champion we progressed to a 4-bot melee where strategy and alliances were formed and destroyed in the flash of a command! There were many thrilling victories involving flipping and disabling the robots; more as the battles increased and people had more experience in combat.
The event was hosted onsite in Mountain View where we were surrounded by the brightly colored Google bicycles transporting Googlers from building to building. Our building contained a vintage surf style VW Van parked inside with a boot style wheel lock ostensibly obstructing its exit. Very fun decor and even better people. The team from revenue projection we worked with cheered and yelled the duration of 2 hours. It was a great pleasure watching their skill level improve quickly and battles to take on epic proportion. The 4-bot melee was especially interesting as the competition was close all the way to the final pop of the balloon.
Our main Googler Sean was extra nice in sending along a testimonial from the event:
“The Battle Bot event was a smashing success with our team. Building the robots was a great opportunity for everyone to collaborate with people they don’t normally get to work with. The battles, though, were the standout highlight: the whole team was jumping and cheering as we fought our tiny mechanical creations for eternal bragging rights and glory.
Wayne was a fantastic facilitator: friendly, knowledgeable, and charismatic, he hit it off right from the start and never missed a beat. The event was also incredibly convenient: he came straight to our door and brought everything with him. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a fast, easy, and incredibly fun team building event!”
A huge thank you to Google for bringing us in for their Corporate Robot Team event. We hope to come back many times!
