Dexcom CSI Team Building Event in San Diego
A great CSI Team Building Event is based on the fact that almost everyone loves a good crime solving book, TV show, or Movie. Dexcom inserted our iCSI (International Crime Scene Investigators) Team Event into their meeting in San Diego. We met at a local Hyatt hotel and enjoyed the event together for about 2 hours. Three teams tried to out do each other at discovering evidence, interrogating suspects, consulting their electronic crime solving assistant, and putting the whole story together.
Each team is tasked with high level team communication and leadership as they must eliminate suspects, choose one to go after, and most importantly, prove their case with evidence. As you can imagine, people who make high tech continuous monitoring devices for diabetes patients have extraordinary problem solving solving skills. Two of the teams chose the correct suspect and made arguments with evidence that would stand in court!
I challenged teams to overcome “confirmation bias” by trying as hard to eliminate suspects as they do to prove one of them did it. Although they had to fight human nature, each team was able to eliminate at least 1 suspect before gliding effortlessly back to proving who did it. I enjoyed the thorough interrogations by each team as they listened for each suspects story first, then went tot heir teams and got evidence to contradict the story, and finally returned to grill me in my lies. Well played!
Dexcom, Inc. is a company that develops, manufactures and distributes continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) systems for diabetes management. It operates internationally with headquarters in San Diego, California, United States. “A CGM system provides continuous insight into glucose levels throughout the day and night. The device displays information about glucose direction and rate of change providing users additional information to help with their diabetes management. Studies have shown that CGM systems may help reduce your A1C and reduce risk for hypoglycemia. Dexcom Continuous Glucose Monitoring helps minimize the guesswork that comes from making decisions based solely on a number from a blood glucose meter reading, for better diabetes management.”
