LinkedIn Sets World Record in Corporate Bot Wars Team Building
A Corporate Bot Wars Team Building with TeamWorx Team Building and LinkedIn produced a new world record build time of 26:19 by the self proclaimed “Natty-Light” team. It was an incredible feat considering thousands of contestants and dozens of teams have competed since the last world record at Altium Live in October of 2017 of 27:00. Winning the LinkedIn event took amazing levels of talent and application as 24 teams battled simultaneously in a dramatic setting within the LinkedIn campus.
Located outdoors on a a giant sport court, we were an integral part of a larger celebration featuring numerous components of battling. One of the most spectacular among them was “Mr. Steamy” an old school local robot used to transport modern day fighting robots. We also had two professional robot fighter son hand to give advice and battle with the teams after the tournament. They both gave our TeamWorx team valuable advice on protecting our robots better for combat, and a few tips to stay ahead of our clients in battle.
The build competition was fast and furious with several teams finishing under 35 minutes. We have noticed world records tend to be broken when we have several teams of high powered professionals in one event at one time. The aggregate sum yields 1 to 3 “outlier” build times under 30 minutes, and occasionally a world record. A huge congratulations to team Natty Light for currently sitting on the absolute top of the corporate robot building team event mountain!
The round robin battle tournament went on schedule, finishing in just about 1.5 hours. Round one included everyone battling, with rounds 2, 3 and 4 being “Best Driver” competitions. Anyone who didn’t get enough battling in the round robin tournament stayed after for the all-bot melee; an informal battle of whoever wants to go do it!
Additional activities at the LinkedIn event included Rock ’em Sock ’em Robots Game, Life size “Battleship”, and beer. Considering it was perfect weather, the energy level was off the chart, music by the DJ was inspiring, and the robots performed spectacularly, it was approaching perfection as an event! We look forward to charting the journey of team Natty Light; how long theri record will stand and will it ever be broken?
A huge thank you to LinkedIn for inviting us to be a part of their battle day. Congratulations team Natty-Light!
