Over a Hundred Person Virtual Events

Over a Hundred Person Virtual Events using WebEx Meetings is easier now with the addition of “breakout rooms” functionality.

Cisco dominated this week with nice additions from Apple and AMPF financial planners. Three different groups from Cisco participated three days in a row; two teams using WebEx Meetings and one team using WebEx Teams for The Corporate Escape Room and Who Stole Anti Matter. Apple celebrated Friday by laughing and competing, and AMPF rewarded their VIP clients with a fun virtual evening, by hosting a Speed Teams Event.

The largest group from Cisco was scheduled for up to 350 people attending, all aspiring to break the World Record Escape Room Time, and to have fun with their colleagues. One very nice feature of WebEx Meetings is that we can host up to 500 participants with unlimited breakout rooms. This is in sharp contrast to Zoom, where the 200-person barrier becomes the limit per session if you want to utilize the breakout rooms feature with teams of 5-6 people each.

Cisco hosted the event on WebEx Meetings and we were able to effortlessly deliver our event to dozens of teams. Ultimately Team 6 had the fastest time at 43:40 followed closely by Team 16, and then Team 25. Cisco gave it another go on Friday with only two teams and using WebEx Teams as the platform, with Team 2 escaping at 43:36 – 4 seconds faster then the best team from Thursday.

Apple had a delightful Speed Teams event on Friday. 5 Teams battled for 6 rounds in about 1 hour. Team 5 and Team 2 were very competitive trading first place wins until Team 2’s best performer had to gracefully bow out due to a commitment – and then Team 5 took the next two rounds. Team 3 snuck in a late victory to end the event feeling like the best team!

AMPF rewarded their VIP clients with a fun Speed Teams virtual evening. It was great to see their clients, and their families, interacting like “game night” – just laughing and having fun like we have for so many years in person together. AMPF has very high security so we were limited to using WebEx Meetings with no chat feature. Luckily Jeff and I have delivered hundreds of virtual events to a global audience, and so even with no tools available – we had a work around! AMPF provided a truly heartwarming event making human connections and having fun! A great a way to reward clients in the these times.
