Robot Skill Competition Team Building with Intuitive Surgical

Intuitive Surgical builds robots for surgery which could partly explain why they almost beat a year-old World Record Build Time for the TeamWorx Speed and Skill Robot. Dropbox dropped the mic on the Speed and Skill World Record with a time of 23:24 in October of 2016. On May 15 2018 the team pictured above engineered a time of 26:35 which puts them top 5 all-time for the Speed and Skill competition. Recently Oculus, YouTube, and Facebook have all posted impressive times, and this team was right there with them. This same team went on to win 3 of the 7 total competitions and were crowned over-all champions. Their other victories in the Robot Skill Competition Team Building events were int he cup stack and in the most important “Finale!!”

Team 5 (not pictured) won two events – the Race competition and Doubles Dice – to round out a nice day of top finishes. Team 4 won the Infinity Sign challenge and Team 3 set the stackign record with 13! Best team name: “A Few Loose Screws.”

We asked Team 1 known as “Bronze” their secret to a fast build time. They responded:

1. “Do it correctly the first time e.g. “measure twice cut once”
2. Organize the table to make things clear and easy to find
