McDermott Will & Emery Global Partners Team Building Orlando
A Team Building Orlando Robot Event at the Ritz-Carlton Grande Lakes with McDermott Will & Emery Global Partners was a smashing success. 15 battle robots were built successfully by global partners form the Transaction Group.
The humidity outside was high and holding steady at about 90 degrees, and the energy was even higher in the Tuscany Ball room with the McDermott, Will, & Emery Transactions group.
Word on the street was the Transaction Group, representing almost 200 participants of 800 total at the MWE Retreat, had some rowdy tendencies. The all-robot melee battle-action proved this group was highly competitive. No world records were broken in the build phase of the event but Team 12 finishing first built a solid robot that won several battle melee rounds with multiple flips.
The battle phase definitely ratcheted up the level of excitement as many as 15 robots smashed into each other in the center battle arena during multiple rounds of competition. Even the film crew asked after the event if all groups were this competitive or just lawyers? Our response… “when given a remote control robot and told to go smash into another, all groups find the thrill overwhelming and cheer loudly when they smell victory at hand as their competition is about to be flipped on its back!”
The MWE lawyers were no different in this way, yelling at their steel robots to finish the flip as parts and popped balloons lay strewn all over the battle field. As the battles ended, bragging commenced over cold cocktails on the Ritz terrace in the Florida humidity with smiles all around.
