YouTube Video Infrastructure Team Building Technical Engineers and Robots!
Team Building Technical Engineers from YouTube built robots very fast! One of YouTube’s four essential freedoms that define their values is the Freedom to be Discovered. They believe “everyone should have a chance to be discovered, build a business and succeed on their own terms, and that people—not gatekeepers—decide what’s popular.” This defines our journey here at TeamWorx Team Building and today YouTube discovered the joy of Robot Team Building!
6 teams from their Video Infrastructure group competed in an epic setting at the Mountain Winery – overlooking all of Silicon Valley – to build robots faster than each other and win one or more of the five team robot competitions! The dialogue within teams was impressive as each member spoke freely, shared opinions, helped to foster open dialogue, and in general inspired a creative freedom that led to truly remarkable results.
One team flirted with the Speed and Skill World Record set by Drop Box on March 23, 2017 in San Francisco of 23 minutes and 24 seconds. It has been over a hundred clients and several hundreds of teams since this record was set, and no team has come close to beating the outlier time; until now! A new YouTube record has been set by the team pictured here of 24:43!
“Team Building Technical Engineers” is a theme that is popular in Silicon Valley and in Los Angeles where their is a high density of super talented technical engineer teams looking for fun ways to build office community and camaraderie. Effective team building can help engineer personalities find communities of shared interests and passions outside of the people on their immediate micro-team or sphere of influence. Programs like robot team building break down common barriers to increased interaction by uniting people in a competitive team format – essentially bonding them together in ways that would never happen at work or at a cocktail reception. Human nature and their competitive spirit naturally create free flowing communication and bring out the best in people.
A huge thank you to YouTube for bringing us out. We are looking forward to more challenges to the company record soon!
