Union Square Team Building with Google Marketing
Union Square Team Building is popular because so many companies travel to the heart of shopping in San Francisco for convenientĀ and stimulating meetings. The Parc 55 hotel was a perfect venue for team building with ample meeting space and friendly staff to help make things perfect.
We were called in by the Cloud Marketing Team – one of the many global marketing teams for Google that were meeting for JAM in San Francisco. These teams have their hands full supporting local marketing teams throughout the world. A one style, or one strategy approach, can’t work when each client you are supporting is immersed in a different culture with different needs and desires. These teams have to be flexible and savvy to help each of their many teams in local markets to succeed.
Many of these skills were on display as they built robots and battled each other in robot combat. Team Sab-Bot-Age (great name) cleaned up on the build competition setting a new Google build record of 28:42 (twenty eight minutes and forty two seconds). Doing some research by checking our blog and searching for “Google” I did not find another time under 30 minutes, which makes this team head and shoulders the best at Google – currently! Doing additional research put Team Sab-Bot-Age’s time of 28:42 in the top 10 all-time! Nice job!
Sab-Bot-Age didn’t stop there as they managed to win the battle portion of the event over 7 other teams! Teams R2D2, Robosaurus, Sentient, Jammers, and WALL-E each recorded melee victories, however team Sab-Bot-Age recorded 5 1/2 melee victories including a win in the final best driver competition! All around one of our best teams to ever compete in Robot Battles, followed closely by the rest of the teams from Google Cloud Global Sales.
A huge thank you to Google – we hope to see you back for Robot Battles 2, and some more marketing teams taking up the challenge!
