Virtual Corporate Escape Room
A Virtual Corporate Escape Room yielded a new world record from Cisco Optics!
A new world record was set for The Corporate Virtual Escape Room by Cisco Team “Luxtera” breaking the previous record set by Amazon of 34:19! A blistering time of 34:17 (thirty four minutes and seventeen seconds) that finished just two seconds faster than Amazon! Cisco Optics is paving the way to 400G and beyond optical technology, so I guess it makes sense they could operate at high speeds.
The team was comprised of engineers and one supply chain manager. They used “parallel processing” to solve challenges simultaneously and used strategy to limit the time on Challenge 4. With 6 total teams only two escaped with a second team posting a time of 44:28. Every team had a great time as they progressed through all or almost all of the challenges. Congratulations to Cisco for becoming the new World Champion!
The Corporate Escape Room was part of a 4.5 hour Virtual Fun Day. We used WebEx Meetings with its all new breakout room feature. Working very similar to Zoom, WebEx Meetings now allows us to breakout teams easily and automatically into breakout rooms of any size. This feature is a major improvement for Meetings and now makes it a worthy competitor to Zoom.
For the 4.5 hours, we started with Speed Teams, then transitioned to The Corporate Escape Room, and then concluded with Who Stole Anti Matter. The Cisco stakeholders played the parts of the four suspects and were interrogated mercilessly by the teams. Luckily, they were well prepared and had perfect personalities to verbally spar and come out on top! A huge thank you to all four suspects who learned their roles perfectly and made the event special.
A super fun day with our three most popular events all in a row, and a World Championship to take home – way to go Cisco!
Workday challenged Who Stole Anti Matter? on Friday night. Two teams battled it out by collecting evidence, matching it to suspects, and putting it all together into a narrative that makes sense. Both teams got really close, with one team eliminating the right suspects, and they came close to proving who did it! Great job Workday!
