A Global Virtual Team Build with Israel, Brazil, and United States with Cadence was a huge hit. Who Stole Anti Matter is a culturally non-specific, tech themed, crime solving and proving event perfect for global audiences. Crime dramas, in the form of novels, TV shows, and movies, are popular in all parts of the globe and with almost every culture. In addition, technology, science, and engineering are universal languages that invite a global audience to participate together on projects. We worked with some folks from Israel, Brazil, and the United States at three different times to encourage as much cross continent collaboration as possible.
As is usual for groups from Cadence, each of the 12 teams jumped on the case of Who Stole Anti Matter and began assuming their roles as crime experts. One group all chose to watch the suspect videos first, and then build the evidence against each of the suspects. This is “out of order” of our suggested process, however, it made us consider this as an option for teams. Indeed, giving context before specifics, which was the result of watching the initial statements from suspects first, allowed for a spirited assembly of evidence because they quickly perceived the connections between the testimony and the actual evidence. I think either route can lead to the same result, perhaps it depends on the team’s learning style, and maybe even specific folks within the team.
Regardless, all three groups of 4 teams saved the planet, sent their cases to the Grand Jury, and one team found the “smoking-gun” evidence that will certainly put the thief away for good.
