Team Building with Google
Mountain View Team Building at the Historic Adobe Building is a perfect way to enjoy a robot team building event and a company offsite. Located just across the Central Expressway from Castro Street makes events at the Historic Adobe Building convenient for dining and parking and before or after things to do. Our expert venue booker Libby arranged this venue for Google for their company offsite and Robot Team Building event for about 50 people. It fit 6 teams perfectly all with round tables and chairs and ample room to battle. The smooth concrete floor is ideal for robot combat as the robots move effortlessly and quickly across the unobstructed terrain.
Team Terminator won the build competition with a scorching time of 38:34 (thirty eight minutes and thirty four seconds) – just outside the top 5% mark of 35:00 minutes. This was good enough to place them 3rd all-time at Google just behind the 2nd best Google time of 36:19 set on November 14, 2018 and the top Google time all-time set on June 22, 2018 of 33:19. The World Record set October 3rd, 2018 at Altium Live is 23:50 by team Impedance Mismatch.
Team Terminator has the unique distinction of having the only person so far to appear in two TeamWorx blog photos – being on the winning team in two separate events! The first person to find this person and point them out to me or send me a snap shot can get 35% off your next team building event! Good Luck!
When asked why they chose the name team Terminator, they said, “Hall of Fame robot!” – Indeed. Technically, Terminator is a Cyberdyne Systems series T-800 Model 101 Terminator with living tissue over a metal endoskeleton. He is essentially a a cyborg assassin disguised as a human who travels back in time from 2029 to 1984. So yes, Terminator has many features relevant to the Hall of Fame of robots, namely: extremely advanced AI, time travel capability, precise human appearance, incredible real world functionality, and a great tag line that will live endlessly in the minds of those that have seen the movies – “I’ll Be Back!”
A huge thank you to Google for bringing “us back” and we look forward to other Google teams challenging for the robot build record!
